Lakeside Retreat

Situated on a quiet cove, this lakeside retreat, built by Cargill Construction, has become a favorite gathering spot for extended family and friends.

The natural terrain of this landscape required a number of landscape elements to be integrated.  Steep grades and drainage issues were controlled by drainage swales on either side of the property.  A large planting buffer, as well as densely planted boulder retaining walls, were used to protect the lake against runoff.  To soften the otherwise rugged landscape, the planting palette uses a tasteful mix of native and ornamental trees, shrubs and perennials.

The natural contour of the shoreline jettisons out into the lake ever so slightly to provide a quaint location to sit around a fire with friends and family.  A combination of hemlocks and spruces border each side of the property to provide the perfect amount of privacy.
