More On SLP
The SLP Story
Stephens Landscaping Professionals was established in 2007 while John Stephens was a high school student at Moultonborough Academy. With a lawn mower and a Chevy S-10, the fledgling company began servicing residential clients with basic maintenance services.
While at the University of New Hampshire, John’s brother Mark, then a high school student, worked to keep the company operating. Following John’s graduation from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Horticulture Technology, the two entrepreneurial brothers began shaping Stephens Landscaping into the company it is today.
Over 15 years removed from the company’s humble beginnings, SLP is now one of the Lakes Region’s most innovative and respected landscaping companies.
Founder’s Message
Mowing the lawn, pruning the shrubs, and shoveling the driveway were all chores in my childhood. It didn’t take long to realize there was a passion developing behind them. The love for working outdoors and the satisfaction of seeing what can be created is what fueled the creation of Stephens Landscaping Professionals. It thrills me to think of where that passion has taken not only me but a team. Today, this burning passion is shared with a team, more like a family, of over 75 people whom together are creatively designing and efficiently building functional and environmentally responsible landscapes to be enjoyed for generations. As we build these landscapes we are building relationships. It’s these relationships that have defined our company and what we are all about.

More About Us
Doing Landscaping Differently in the Lakes Region
We are Stephens Landscaping Professionals. A professional landscape firm that loves to learn, collaborate and create. Based in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, we specialize in the design, permitting, construction and maintenance of exceptional residential and commercial landscapes. As a team of over 75 employees, we are wildly passionate about collaborating closely with clients to learn and understand their landscape vision in order to create properties that are aesthetically pleasing, socially impactful, and environmentally responsible.
Since our inception in 2007, we have always placed a high value on building and maintaining each personal client relationship. Whether it is managing a large project or maintaining an existing landscape, we always believe the client is the most important member of the team. With a goal of creating unique, extraordinary properties, we strategically invite our clients to participate from the design through maintenance phases. Each property and each client has their own personality and identity. We try to channel this throughout the process to create a landscape that fits our client’s tastes and lifestyle.
